From the Vault: Content isn’t a playing card…Assessing the value of content…

[Here's another oldie, part of my "From the Vault" series of articles written for my earlier, now-defunct blog.  I thought this would make a relevant addition to my latest post.]
Well over a year ago, I read Andrew Odlysko’s “Content is Not King,” which argues that connectivity and point-to-point communication is far more important in terms [...]

(Fill in the blank) vs. content… Apples, oranges and false dichotomies…

Yesterday, I read a long forum conversation that started after someone posited the argument that pay per click advertising was an all-around superior option to article marketing.
I can’t go a week without seeing someone bring up the old “links vs. content” debate.
The other day, I saw someone questioning the value of good copywriting relative to [...]

The most redundant redundancy in Internet marketing…

“It doesn’t matter if it’s 2:00 a.m. in the morning”!
There are over 7,000 Google-recognized instances of that line’s use (in quotes, by the way) on the web.

Spammers are annoying little monsters, but they aren’t stupid.  They know a few [...]

Master Article Marketing…

Sylvia Rolfe was kind enough to solicit my opinion on some key aspects of effective article marketing recently as part of her “Master Article Marketing” product.  Sylvia’s launching the ebook today and I’m happy to be listed among her interviewees.
Take a look if you’re interested in finding out what eleven different active article marketers have [...]

Big Red Notebook T-shirts

I’m sending out a few Big Red Notebook t-shirts for the holidays and will need a few more in the future.
I decided the easiest way to get the job done was with CafePress.
If you just can’t live without your very own Big Red Notebook t-shirt, you can buy one here.

Less than $10.  Absolutely zero mark-up [...]

New logo for Big Red Notebook

I finally started the process of replacing the old photo of a tattered notebook with custom graphics.
Here’s the new Big Red Notebook logo.  I’d be happy to receive a little feedback…

Andi designed the new graphic and if all outsourcing was this easy, life would be wonderful.  I found a sample of Andi’s work on another site, [...]
